International twinning project for women in business

An international twinning project allows New Brunswick and German businesswomen to exchange views and better understand the realities of the market. It is a partnership between Women in Business New Brunswick and the Association of German Women Entrepreneurs VdU (Verband deutscher Unternehmerinnen).

Export and International Trade development officer, Claire Ephestion, points out that this is a great opportunity for women entrepreneurs in New Brunswick to "create synergy, create mutual aid and network" with their sisters at the stranger.

Ten New Brunswickers are twinned with ten German women, working in the fields of tourism, food and cosmetics, fashion and professional services.

“Our Canadian women, they will benefit from all the knowledge, expertise and connections of German women. It really is a win-win exchange. "

- Claire Ephestion, Development Officer, Women in Business New Brunswick

Lyne-Chantal Boudreau is the owner of the social enterprise Bibilyn Designs, part of the profits of which are donated to organizations that fight against family violence. She makes scarves, dresses and, since the pandemic, fabric masks.

Participating in the project, she notices several similarities between business women from here and from Germany. “We still live in substantially the same realities, the same challenges. Make our place as businesswomen, give yourself that credibility. Similar efforts on both sides. We have this exchange and we have this desire to support each other. "

Lyne-Chantal Boudreau hopes to eventually go to Germany and welcome her colleague to Canada.

Abundant By Design owner Angèle Miller is thrilled with the business opportunities that are opening up for her business through this twinning. The producer of the only organic popcorn in Canada, Active Pop, says it is "exciting to see our popcorn made here in Canada" on the shelves in Germany.

"Being in Germany and exporting our products will also help us open other doors in other countries. "

- Angèle Miller, owner Abundant By Design

This exchange program is a great learning opportunity for women entrepreneurs, whether they sell a product or not. The owner of Master Nail Artists, Jessica Goguen, hopes to acquire new knowledge in her field. "I'm mainly interested in the nail care industry abroad. How are the industrial standards, the innovations there? », She wonders.

"I'm really curious to know what are the competitive advantages and also the cultural differences to then learn or bring these same advantages here in the Maritimes and elsewhere. "

- Jessica Goguen, owner Master Nail Artists

This support program for Women in Business New Brunswick and the German Association VdU, is a one-year project. One meeting per month is planned between the participants.

Des robes pour lutter contre la violence familiale

Press release of September 29, 2016

Bibilyn Designs Inc. : New social enterprise

Bibilyn Designs Inc. is a fashion company that contributes to society by restoring the self-esteem of women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

Wearing these creations means supporting the project.

The new social designer and owner, Lyne Chantal Boudreau is a social entrepreneur committed both on the community and professional levels. Through her own experience, she has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by women and children victims of domestic and marital violence. What she wants today is to allow these victims to regain control of their lives.

A haute couture brand to finance a social project

This innate talent for made-to-measure, she owes it to her passion for beautiful things and the deep belief that each human being is distinguished by its history. She draws, designs and produces dresses that have nothing to envy to the major international brands from which inspires her. To achieve this, Lyne Chantal has surrounded herself with a team that understands the issues surrounding the essence, the merits and the mission of her company.

Lyne Chantal Boudreau deeply believes that a brand only makes sense if it helps to change society. This is why a percentage of the net profits from her business will be donated to projects that aim to curb violence and social injustice against women and children.

Her project, Bibilyn Designs, is the culmination of an exceptional career built on deep social beliefs that aim to create good around you. For its first collection, Bibilyn Designs has created eight exclusive dresses for the 2016 Wine Expo. Two of these dresses will be offered as part of two auctions that will take place on October 28 and November 3, following which a donation will be given to the Foundation. Muriel McQueen Fergusson. Foundation that actively supports research on the causes and forms of family violence in addition to promoting effective educational programs on family violence.
